About
I’m just a girl with a passion for local history and folklore.
Wollongong is the 10th largest city in Australia, and behind our beautiful beaches and everyday life lurks a dark, forgotten history. Brutal murders, strange happenings, urban legends and hauntings. Some of these stories have been verified by reputable sources. Others have been relayed to me by people who have experienced them. One thing is for certain: they are fascinating, eerie and always worth a read!
A large part of this blog has relied on people sending in their personal experiences. If you have something to share please comment below or, if you wish to remain anonymous please use the contact form below and I will publish your story under another name.

Great site! Do you know the story behind Windy Gully or if it even exists?
Thanks Ann-Marie!
I have been looking into Windy Gully a great deal as it is one that many people are interested in. I have found a local legend about a satanic house, but am yet to find anything set in concrete. Keep your eyes peeled – if I find anything I will certainly post it. And feel free to let me know if you find any information along the way.
I found the satanic house however it wasn’t up Mt Kembla (windy gully) its up Mt Keira, near the Scout Camp Hall. Not sure if its still there anymore but I remember going there at night time which was scary as hell. I think they call it the satan house because the walls are covered in graffiti with reference to satan & rituals etc.
Thank you so much for this Louise. I remember going on a school camp to Mt Keira and there was a huge house that was all boarded up. We weren’t supposed to go near it, but of course a group went at night to check it out and came back convinced it was haunted. Is this the house you mean?
I need to talk to you I am a paranormal hunter I need to understand some of the dark histories
